The Australian Network for Spiritual Direction exists to encourage spiritual directors in their work,
to nurture enquirers interested in spiritual direction and those who may be drawn to its practice,
to provide regular gatherings and newsletters for their care and nurture and to support national, regional and local training programs.
ANSD acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live,
learn, work and have our being. We respect and honour the First Peoples whose cultures are among the oldest living cultures in human history.

“This Flood of Stillness”
Invitation to Silence
We come each Friday to be prayerfully conscious that the chaos of our times is calling us to a new awareness of each other, of each element of creation and of ourselves. As a spiritual direction network, we seek to listen in to the articulation of the life-giving presence of God, whether in war zones, depleted environments, or contexts of interpersonal violence. We hold these before our Creator seeking redemption as much for these situations as for ways in which we personally separate ourselves from the Whole.

A new story is emerging of which we are a crucial part. Letting that communion consciousness emerge not as a work that we do, but rather as the gift of our Creator and Redeemer in the unfolding plan of Love Energy and Wisdom Ways, will strengthen our resolve to wait patiently and to act prudently within our individual lives, our national contexts and on a global arena. In finding creativity in silence, we move on together in the unfolding plan.
